Introduction to the English Sunday School Ministry

The goal of the English Sunday School Department is to encourage the development of a lifelong habit to study the Word of God in order to know and experience God. Our teachers are a dedicated bunch, loving the Lord and loving His people. The English Sunday School Department offers classes for students from Grade 7 to adults; those who are younger attend the combined (English, Cantonese and Mandarin) classes organized by the children’s Sunday school ministry.

As with most schools, our Sunday school classes are organized by learner need and interest and structured in 3-month terms. Whether you are new to Scriptures wishing to know what they are all about, a new follower of Jesus Christ and growing in the faith, or you just never tire of learning from God’s Word, there will likely be a class that you can attend.

Adult Track

Bible Bus : A People’s Spiritual Odyssey & God’s Faithfulness

Teacher: Rev. Ted Tham –Basement

1 Kings records the lives of a number of famous people, both good and evil. King David, King Solomon, and the Queen of Sheba are famous examples of righteous people searching after God’s wisdom. On the other hand, Ahab and Jezebel are two notorious examples of wicked people discarding God’s Law and rebelling against Him. Then there was the prophet Elijah. Often described as Israel’s greatest and most dramatic prophet, Elijah displayed at Mount Carmel the power of God over the false god Baal and his 400 prophets.

In the final analysis, 1 Kings is the story of a people headed down 2 different paths. It is a story of good kings & bad kings, true prophets and false prophets, and of disobedience and loyalty to God. Most importantly, it is a story of Israel’s spiritual odyssey and God’s faithfulness to His people.
