NTCBC Worship Guide

As we go through this current season of worshipping in our individual homes as a faith family, we want to provide you with resources for a robust virtual worship experience. This guide is meant to lead you and your family in being able to spend some time praising together in your individual home settings. It is meant to be used in conjunction with the live-stream sermon that can be found on our website: https://ntcbc.org/stream/

Because of the added flexibility of an online service, feel free to use this guide either before or after the sermon. This document will be updated each week by the Worship Ministry Pastor and Department Head to better align with the message.

Here’s a suggested sample structure for your online service at home (times may vary):

9:30-9:45 AM | NTCBC Worship Guide (‘Worship Set Playlist’)

9:45-10:35 AM | Live-stream Sermon

10:35-10:45 | NTCBC Worship Guide (‘Response Set Playlist’)

How to use this Guide

You’ll see that this guide has a few sections for you to follow-along with:

  • Worship Set Playlists
    1. Spotify Playlist Link
    2. YouTube Playlist Link

Note: Feel free to follow along with either Spotify or Youtube Playlists depending on your preference. The main difference is that YouTube links may not have running lyrics on the bottom of each video.

  • Call to Worship
  • Lyrics
  • Worship Leader Comments

Note: Throughout the document you’ll find highlighted comments at various points. These prompts are meant to provide additional guidance for reflection as you go through the worship set. The suggestion is to pause either the Spotify or Youtube Playlist when you reach a comment and then resume once again after having spent time to reflect on the given prompt.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Psalm 100:1-2 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Curtis Lai

As we come before God today in our own homes for worship, let us be reminded that God is the same God that we worship regardless of whether it’s in our church building or otherwise.

Our God does not change. We are still coming into His presence – as much so as if we were coming into His presence in the physical church building.

So let us praise and sing as much in our homes as we would at church! And let us be reminded that we can do this because God has now made His dwelling place within us (1 Cor 3:16)!

[REFLECTION]: Take a moment to give thanks to God for His presence right now even in your home, and for the opportunity we have right now to still worship Him in our current context.

This Is Amazing Grace

Verse 1

Who breaks the power of sin and darkness

Whose love is mighty and so much stronger

The King of Glory the King above all kings

Verse 2

Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder

And leaves us breathless in awe and wonder

The King of Glory the King above all kings

Chorus

This is amazing grace

This is unfailing love

That You would take my place

That You would bear my cross

You laid down Your life

That I would be set free

Oh Jesus I sing for all that You’ve done for me

Verse 3

And the morning that You rose

All of heaven held its breath

Till that stone was moved for good

For the Lamb had conquered death

And the dead rose from their tombs

And the angels stood in awe

For the souls of all who’d come

To the Father are restored

Verse 4

And the Church of Christ was born

Then the Spirit lit the flame

Now this Gospel truth of old

Shall not kneel shall not faint

By His blood and in His Name

In His freedom I am free

For the love of Jesus Christ

Who has resurrected me

Curtis Lai

The verses of this next song speak powerfully about God being the one who provides hope in the midst of hopelessness.

He was the light when we were waiting in the darkness of sin. He was the one who came to redeem and reconcile us from our fate. He was the one who rose from the dead when all seemed lost.

In the midst of our current pandemic, let us be reminded to look to God who alone is the King of Kings! He is the one who gives us hope in the midst of our hopelessness. He is sovereign. He is in control. He is Good. And He is worthy of our praise forever!

[REFLECTION]: Take a moment to reflect on how God is still King in your current life situation, and give thanks to Him that He is not only in control, but working for your ultimate good, and worthy of your ultimate praise.

King Of Kings

Verse 1

In the darkness we were waiting

Without hope without light

Till from Heaven You came running

There was mercy in Your eyes

To fulfil the law and prophets

To a virgin came the Word

From a throne of endless glory

To a cradle in the dirt

Chorus

Praise the Father

Praise the Son

Praise the Spirit three in one

God of Glory

Majesty

Praise forever to the King of Kings

Verse 2

To reveal the kingdom coming

And to reconcile the lost

To redeem the whole creation

You did not despise the cross

For even in Your suffering

You saw to the other side

Knowing this was our salvation

Jesus for our sake You died

Verse 3

And the morning that You rose

All of heaven held its breath

Till that stone was moved for good

For the Lamb had conquered death

And the dead rose from their tombs

And the angels stood in awe

For the souls of all who’d come

To the Father are restored

Verse 4

And the Church of Christ was born

Then the Spirit lit the flame

Now this Gospel truth of old

Shall not kneel shall not faint

By His blood and in His Name

In His freedom I am free

For the love of Jesus Christ

Christ Be Magnified

Verse 1

Were creation suddenly articulate

With a thousand tongues to lift one cry

Then from north to south and east to west

We’d hear Christ be magnified

Verse 2

Were the whole earth echoing His eminence

His name would burst from sea and sky

From rivers to the mountain tops

We’d hear Christ be magnified

Chorus

O Christ be magnified

Let His praise arise

Christ be magnified in me

O Christ be magnified

From the altar of my life

Christ be magnified in me

Verse 3

When ev’ry creature finds its inmost melody

And ev’ry human heart its native cry

O then in one enraptured hymn of praise

We’ll sing Christ be magnified

Bridge

I won’t bow to idols

I’ll stand strong and worship You

And if it puts me in the fire

I’ll rejoice ’cause You’re there too

I won’t be formed by feelings

I hold fast to what is true

If the cross brings transformation

Then I’ll be crucified with You

(You can hang me there with You)

Bridge

‘Cause death is just the doorway

Into resurrection life

If I join You in Your suff’rings

Then I’ll join You when You rise

And when You return in glory

With all the angels and the saints

My heart will still be singing

My song will be the same

Heart of Worship

Verse 1

When the music fades all is stripped away

And I simply come

Longing just to bring something that’s of worth

That will bless Your heart

Pre-Chorus

I’ll bring You more than a song

For a song in itself is not what You have required

You search much deeper within

Through the way things appear

You’re looking into my heart

Chorus

I’m coming back to the heart of worship

And it’s all about You all about You Jesus

I’m sorry Lord for the thing I’ve made it

When it’s all about You all about You Jesus

Verse 2

King of endless worth no one could express

How much You deserve

Though I’m weak and poor all I have is Yours

Ev’ry single breath

Jesus I My Cross Have Taken

Verse 1

Jesus I my cross have taken

All to leave and follow Thee

Destitute despised forsaken

You always my all shall be

Perish every fond ambition

All I’ve sought or hoped or known

Yet how rich is my condition

God and heaven are still my own

Chorus

Wherever He leads I’ll go

I will take up my cross and follow

Wherever He leads Wherever He leads

I’ll go

Verse 2

Haste me on from grace to glory

Armed by faith and winged by prayer

Heaven’s eternal days before me

God’s own hand shall guide me there

Soon shall close my earthly mission

Swift shall pass my pilgrim days

Hope shall change to glad fruition

Faith to sight and prayer to praise

Blessed Assurance

Verse 1

Blessed assurance Jesus is mine

O what a foretaste of glory divine

Heir of salvation purchase of God

Born of His Spirit washed in His blood

Chorus

This is my story this is my song

Praising my Savior all the day long

This is my story this is my song

Praising my Savior all the day long

Verse 2

Perfect submission perfect delight

Visions of rapture now burst on my sight

Angels descending bring from above

Echoes of mercy whispers of love

Verse 3

Perfect submission all is at rest

I in my Savior am happy and blest

Watching and waiting looking above

Filled with His goodness lost in His love

Verse 3

And the morning that You rose

All of heaven held its breath

Till that stone was moved for good

For the Lamb had conquered death

And the dead rose from their tombs
