Sermon Series: Marks of a Healthy Church<\/h3>\t\t\t

Have you ever tried to picture what the perfect church would look like? Maybe music worship will be led by Spirit-filled and humble professional musicians. Perhaps the pastor will be preaching the Gospel from the Bible in a relevant and convicting manner. For sure, there will be times of deep fellowship where your soul will be filled as you interact with your brothers and sisters. There will also definitely be a culture of disciple-making and personal evangelism.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whatever picture you have in your head, the chances are, we currently fall short of that ideal. And I hate to break it to you, but there is a high probability that our church will never be picture perfect. However, this does not mean that all hope is lost. While we will never be a perfect church, we can still grow to become a healthy church.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this sermon series, we will explore the marks of a healthy church. While our series is based off the book, \u2018Nine Marks of a Healthy Church by Mark Dever,\u2019 each sermon will be based off of a Biblical text that exhorts us to be a body of believers that bears these marks. Our goal is that as we prayerfully receive God\u2019s Word, we will not only understand what it means to be a healthy church, but that God would move us to adjust how we live so that, together, we can grow into becoming a healthy church for God\u2019s glory and our joy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Small Groups will be studying the companion book, “<\/span>What is a Healthy Church Member<\/span><\/i>” by Thabiti Anyabwile.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

In 2 Corinthians 8, the Macedonian churches were pleading Paul to allow them to share their resources even those they were in extreme poverty.<\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 8:2-4 – In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3<\/sub> For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4<\/sub> they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord\u2019s people.<\/em><\/p>\n

We want to remind brothers and sisters to pray for the missionaries and mission organizations NTCBC supports especially during this pandemic and to continue to give your financial support. NTCBC supports several local organizations that serve the poor, homeless, refugees and vulnerable people and in this time of the pandemic their services are needed more than ever.\u00a0 You may also directly donate to these agencies. If you want to know the agencies NTCBC supports, please send an email to mission@ntcbc.ca<\/a> and someone will provide you this information.<\/p>\n

Please continue to pray for the missionaries and mission organizations NTCBC supports and to give financially. To pray together, join the online monthly corporate Mission prayer meeting on the last Wednesday of each month. To give, you can designate the amount to \u201cMission\u201d on the message section (along with your offering number) when you donate through e-transfer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
