The Dangers of Bad Doctrine
Bible Text: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-17 | Preacher: Kwan Chan | Series: NT Reads the NT | The Christians in Thessalonica were being threatened by Satan, who had employed people to incept lies into the community regarding Jesus and His return. The Christians had started to believe the lies and were growing faint in their faith. Paul wrote to the church to correct their teaching and to help restore their faith in God and their faithfulness to Him.
This letter reminds us of the dangers of bad doctrine, and that good doctrine leads to godly deeds. Our call is to stand firm and hold onto God’s Word so that we will not be compromised by Satan’s lies, or even by our own feelings and wisdom. We are also called to rely on God’s Spirit who empowers us to know and live out His Word.
