Sons, not Slaves
Jesus Christ offers everyone adoption into God’s family and release from their former life of slavery. Slavery has two forms: legalism – God’s acceptance of me is based on our obedience to Him; licentiousness – I have the licence to live however I want. Both lifestyles are forms of slavery because both lead to lives of bitter disappointment and neither lead to eternal salvation. Christ has come to not only fulfil the requirements of the law, but to offer us a life of abundance in Him.
