Overview: The Sabbath is a day that is set apart for the purpose of rest. It is not meant to be a time where we simply take a break from work. Rather, we are to recharge for work and to reveal our faith in God by dedicating the day for corporate worship and fellowship.

God is serious about the Sabbath because He is serious about His glory. God calls us to keep the Sabbath as a sign of our faith and trust in Him; it is a demonstration of our covenant commitment to Him. The good news is that Sabbath-keeping is for His glory and our good, for the Sabbath is an opportunity for us to recharge in order to work for His glory the rest of the week.
