In our passage, the author shows that life with Jesus is better than life apart from Him. Our call is to behold the beauty of our Saviour so that we will be encouraged to follow Him. We are to obey His voice without delay, for delay obedience is disobedience, which hardens our hearts towards God. If we do not repent, our hearts will continue to harden, to the point where we may end up rejecting our Saviour.

The Good News is that God’s mercy exceeds our capacity to sin, and that all who repent will be forgiven. In addition, God promises to renew our hearts by His Holy Spirit so that we will be able to behold the beauty of our Saviour, and obey Him with joy.
