As Paul passionately reminds the church in Ephesus of the spiritual blessings that they have in Christ, he responds in prayerful thanksgiving and intercession.

Paul demonstrates that prayer is both a direct response to having experienced God and His Gospel, as well as a plea for God to reveal Himself and His Gospel message even more to us. When we have been gripped by the reality of our spiritual adoption, we praise God for all that He has done in saving us. And we are led to fervently pray for God to open our eyes to see Him with increasing clarity.
