True Faith is Visible
Bible Text: James 2:14-26 | Preacher: Kwan Chan | Series: NT Reads the NT | James wrote a letter to Christians that were struggling to remain faithful to their Lord Jesus Christ. Rather than filling his letter with deep theological truths, he reminds them with one simple truth: our faith shapes how we live. His letter is therefore filled with instructions on how one ought to conduct himself/herself as a child of God. At the heart of the letter, he reminds them that it is not enough to believe in God, for demons also believe in God. Rather, the defining characteristic of a Christian is love for God and neighbour.
This letter challenges us to examine whether our faith in God is producing a steadfast faithfulness to God, for James is clear: a faith with no works is a faith with no worth.
