Give Sacrificially

Passage: Luke 21:1-4; 1 Corinthians 9:15-27

In the passage we are studying today, we read of Jesus praising a poor widow for her sacrificial giving. Though sacrificing is an uncomfortable thought, the Bible teaches that there is much virtue to sacrifice, as it is self-denial for a greater purpose. In Paul’s letter to the Church in Corinth, we learn that this greater purpose is the salvation of souls and the glory of God.

In order for us to be live and give sacrificially, we need to love as Paul and the widow loved. Therefore, let us ask God to grant us a greater desire for Him and for the salvation of hurting souls.
