One Body of Servants

Preacher:
Passage: 1 Corinthians 4:1-17

The Apostle Paul stated that there were two types of people in the church: Servants and Spectators. Servants are those who serve Christ and are stewards of the Gospel; they work to build up the church. Spectators are those who don’t participate in construction and criticize others for their work.

As believers, we are called to be servants and to imitate other servants. We are also called to repent of our tendencies to spectate and criticize. The Gospel assures us that we can receive forgiveness for our sins and that we can trust God, who is a loving Father who instructs us away from foolish and destructive behaviour and towards a life of wisdom and love.
