In our passage this week, Paul clarifies the Corinthians’ misunderstanding of resurrection by pointing them back to evidences of Christ’s resurrection, and pointing them forward to their own eventual resurrection. In doing so, Paul outlines an important principle - that our present hope in the Gospel is rooted in recognizing God’s gospel grace in the past, and God’s gospel promises in the future.

Paul’s exhortation to the Corinthians is equally as applicable to us today. We too are called to faithfully live out God’s mission by looking to the hope that He has provided us in the Gospel - being reminded of what He has already accomplished for us in the past, and what He promises to provide us in the future.
