Restored to Follow Jesus

Preacher:
Series:
Passage: Matthew 8:1-9:38

Those who follow Christ will experience discomfort and hardship, and yet we are asked to follow Him without delay and to make Jesus the focus of our lives. Since the cost of discipleship is high, Jesus remarks that ‘the labourers are few’ and therefore, we must be vigilant in praying for God to raise up more workers.

These passages are interspersed between stories that tell how Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons, calmed the storms, and raised the dead. This was done intentionally in order to remind us that Jesus’ commands are rooted in His great love for us. Therefore, we are able to entrust our lives to Him, knowing that He will lead us towards life and restoration.
