Throughout the book of Jeremiah, we have seen the recurring judgments that god pronounces against the wayward nation of Judah. God consistently calls Judah to repent, but Judah consistently chooses to rebel. However, as we come to this section of the book of Jeremiah, we see God begin to speak of the future blessings that will come for His people. And in Jeremiah 31:31-40 we read of the new covenant that God will establish with Israel and Judah. A new covenant that is better than the old covenant that His people failed. A new covenant rooted in the faithfulness of God.
