God called Jeremiah to announce judgment upon the nation of Judah. The people did not repent and instead, abused Jeremiah, causing him to be in great sorrow. In our passage, Jeremiah offers a lament to God, highlighting the reality that God’s servants are called to endure suffering. The good news is that God walks with His servants in their suffering, offering protection and future deliverance.
