Your Kingdom Come

Passage: Matthew 6:9-13

As we continue this week in our series on the Lord’s prayer, we receive the next set of petitions that Jesus instructs us to pray. Petitions that are intimately connected to our identity as members of God’s kingdom. And in this week’s passage, Jesus calls us to pray for the coming of God’s kingdom and the fulfillment of His will here on Earth.

Through our study of this verse, we will see that this prayer not only serves as an outward petition to God but that it also reveals our inward condition as we are pointed to the areas of our lives that do not currently align with these words. In calling us to pray this way, Jesus calls us to reflect upon our current allegiance to His Kingdom and will, and beckons us to align our hearts with His.
