In the final hours leading up to His betrayal, trial, and crucifixion, Jesus spent His last night agonizing in prayer amongst His disciples. As Christ submitted Himself to prayer, He submitted His life to the Father’s will, which resulted in a life of faithful obedience. As we look to Christ’s example of prayer, we are called to do the same today, being motivated by the reality that we submit ourselves to a loving God who desires good for our lives.
