It is interesting to take note that in the first seven chapters of the book of Nehemiah the narrative focuses on Nehemiah, the people, and the reconstruction of the wall. Evidently, their city was rebuilt; however, their hearts were not. What is missing in this restoration process, particularly in the renovation of people’s hearts? It is not until chapter 8 that the centrality of the Word of God is mentioned. Can a revival come without the Word of God?
