The people of Judah approached God for guidance. When they didn’t hear what they were expecting, they rebelled, choosing to follow their own will as opposed to following God’s will. Their disobedience exposed their heart-stance when they came to God in prayer: they were not seeking for God’s guidance or His will, they were seeking God’s permission to do their will. God gave us His Word in order to warn us that if we walk according to our will, we will miss out on His blessing.
