The author of Ecclesiastes says that none of us really have ultimate control over the outcome of our lives. We all face death at an unforeseen time, and our lives are soon forgotten. Furthermore, events in our world seem to take place at random. What we expect to happen does not always come to pass. Christians are reminded that we are not in control, but that we worship the God who is. He alone is sovereign and trustworthy and calls us to live for Him and assures us that our lives are under His control.
