God promises that, in heaven, Christians will experience deep relationship with Him as we live with Him in His perfect and precious home that is free from the pollution of sin. This promise of heaven not only gives us something to look forward to, but it leads us to reflect on whether we truly desire an eternity where the chief prize is unfettered access to the God of the universe.

The Good News is that God does not demand a perfect love or faith. If we find the Biblical portrait of heaven unappealing, we are to confess and repent of our lack of love for God. We are to then ask the Holy Spirit to increase our affections for our Lord so that we will be able to treasure Him as we ought.
